Security Supervisor

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Security Supervisor to lead the security team and ensure the safety and security of the premises. As a Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the security department, coordinating security measures, and providing guidance to security personnel. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of security protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise and provide leadership to the security team, including assigning duties, conducting performance evaluations, and delivering training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  2. Security Operations: Oversee the implementation of security protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe and secure environment. Conduct regular security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to address them.
  3. Incident Response: Coordinate and respond to security incidents, emergencies, or breaches promptly and effectively. Ensure appropriate actions are taken to mitigate risks, preserve evidence, and escalate incidents as necessary.
  4. Staff Deployment: Schedule and allocate security personnel to ensure adequate coverage and optimal utilization of resources. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to assigned duties.
  5. Training and Development: Conduct training sessions to educate security personnel on security procedures, emergency response protocols, and use of security equipment. Provide guidance and support to enhance the skills and professionalism of the team.
  6. Surveillance and Monitoring: Oversee the operation of security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems. Review surveillance footage and reports to identify suspicious activities and take appropriate actions.
  7. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents, injuries, or property damage. Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  8. Client Interaction: Foster positive relationships with clients, addressing their security concerns and providing regular updates on security operations. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific security requirements and tailor security measures accordingly.
  9. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare accurate and detailed reports, including incident reports, shift logs, and security assessments. Maintain proper documentation and records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve security processes, procedures, and strategies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall security posture of the organization.
  11. Fire Drill Management: Accountable for managing and overseeing regular fire drills to assess the effectiveness of evacuation procedures, enhance emergency response capabilities, and ensure the safety of occupants during fire incidents.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training or certifications in security management or a related field is preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security supervisory role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting. Proven experience in managing security operations, incident response, and staff supervision.
  3. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities to effectively lead and motivate a team. Ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  4. Security Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of security protocols, procedures, and best practices. Familiarity with security systems, access control, and surveillance equipment.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation.
  6. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address security issues and emergencies. Ability to analyze situations, assess risks, and implement appropriate strategies.
  7. Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with clients and the public.
  8. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using security systems, surveillance equipment, and computer applications for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
  9. Integrity and Professionalism: Exemplary integrity, ethical behaviour, and a professional demeanour when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  10. Valid Security License: Possession of a valid security license or the ability to obtain one is required.
  11. Valid G Class License: Must possess a valid G Class license with clean driving record for operating company vehicles and overseeing transportation-related activities.
  12. Ability to Provide First Aid Support: Capable to provide first aid support whenever necessary which involves being able to administer immediate medical assistance in emergency situations or in response to injuries.
  13. Loss Prevention Experience: Demonstrated history of effectively implementing and managing loss prevention measures as well as strategies will be an asset.
  14. Smart Serve License: The possession of a valid Smart Serve license or the potential to acquire one will be regarded as a valuable advantage for this position.
